Andy Waggoner is the Conductor and Artistic Director of The Collinsville Chorale in Illinois. The Chorale is an 80-voice
auditioned community chorale in the Metro-East area of St. Louis. He is also Director of Worship at The Gathering
United Methodist Church in St. Louis. Andy has served churches in Illinois and Missouri since 1996. Most recently at St.
John United Church of Christ in St. Charles, MO and St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo, IL. From 2000-2005,
Andy was Director of Music at Redeemer Evangelical Church in South St. Louis, Missouri as well as Music and Choral
Director at St. Louis Charter School, a public
charter school in downtown St. Louis with over 900 students in grades K-
8. While at Redeemer, the music ministries presented 50 concerts in four years, both on site at Redeemer and in the
community as a part of their concert series.

He has been a member of both the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and the
St. Louis Metro Singers where he also
assisted in conducting. Andy has led workshops and leadership training in the areas of music, worship, church
member involvement and teaching with Love and Logic. Under his direction, choirs have performed numerous
concerts at such venues as the Cathedral Basilica, The Sheldon Concert Hall, local churches and theatres and has
participated in 3 residencies at Carnegie Hall in New York City through Mid-America Productions
. Andy will return to
Carnegie Hall in the fall of 2011.

In addition to conducting, solo credits include a CD in 2003 of his live performance at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St.
Louis, several church solo concerts and tenor soloist with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for the Holiday Pops
Concerts in 2003, performing Holts’ “Christmas Day” with the St. Louis Metro Singers.
In the fall of 2009, Andy made
his jazz cabaret debut at the Bistro at Grand Center, home to Jazz at the Bistro.


Community Theatre has long been a passion for Andy as he has participated in over 20 shows as an actor, director
and musical director. He was nominated twice by Arts For Life, a St. Louis area theatre recognition guild, for his role in
“Jekyll and Hyde” and for musically directing “Suessical,” both with the Rockwood School District ’s Spotlight
Productions. His most recent and favorite role was playing Schroeder in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” with Take
Two Productions, which was just nominated for "Best Show" by the Arts For Life Theatre Recognition Guild for 2007.
Within the past few years, Andy’s been either on stage or under the stage for three productions of Annie, Fiddler on the
Roof, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Bells Are Ringing, City of Angels, Suessical, Honk!, Jekyll and
Hyde, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. In June of 2009, Andy was the Executive Producer of Arts for Life's Best
Performance Awards.

Andy and singing partner Joy Powell are co-producers of
their new venue in St. Louis, The Basement. This venue offers
local talent a place to perform for the community and also gives Joy and Andy a home for their concerts and cabarets.

Andy has taught private piano, voice, and conducting and has also lead community choral festivals. Andy is an active
member of the American Choral Director’s Association, The Conductor’s Associations of Missouri, Illinois and Texas,
Music Educator's National Conference, and The Fellowship of United Methodist Worship Arts.

We are very blessed to have Lynn as our accompanist. She is not only gifted on the piano, but also in assisting
rehearsals and sectionals. Lynn is also the pianist at First Baptist Church of Collinsville and has been the
accompanist for the Chorale since it's inception in 1994.
Gary Humphrey is the Executive Director and founder of the Collinsville Chorale. A lifelong Collinsville resident, Gary
currently serves as the music director at Friedens United Church of Christ in St. Charles, Missouri, and has been active
in church music for over 25 years. Gary resides in Collinsville with his wife Brenda, and his two children, Kevin and
Lauren. Gary also continues to make use of his talents at the piano, and can be found most Saturday evenings playing
at Neruda, a fine dining establishment in Edwardsville. Gary has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Business
from Bradley University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. The Chorale is Gary's passion
and something he considers to be one of his greatest treasures.
